Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in accordance with the care plan and under the supervision of a registered nurse
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the nurse
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting techniques
- Provide companionship and emotional support to patients
- Follow infection control protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a home health aide or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare procedures
- Ability to provide compassionate care to individuals with diverse needs and backgrounds
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Ability to lift and move patients safely, using proper body mechanics
- Familiarity with dementia care, catheter care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus
