Job Description:
- Coordinate and administer all aspects of state testing (WIDA) of the English Language Learner (ELL) program
- Advocate for the needs of the ELL with teachers and leaders.
- Assist district and school administrators in the implementation of ELL.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal mandates for ELL students.
- Monitor and maintain student achievement date associated with ELL, providing regular updates to the network team and principals.Provide professional development to administrators and certified and/or classified staff on specific needs of ELL students.
- Provide coaching and assistance to certified and classified staff in schools to improve student achievement.
- Provide leadership and assist school personnel by providing clarity of focus, expanded opportunities, and promoting high expectations of all students.
- Evaluate, purchases, distributes, and provides support for intervention materials
- Keep current on trends, legislations and developments related to English learners.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Indiana Educator’s Professional License
- Minimum of three year in a successful classroom experience
- Working knowledge of WIDA standards to administer test as well as relate it to the differentiated instruction need for scholars.
- Knowledge of research findings and recent trends in ELL
- Experience working in an effective inclusion and/or co-teaching environment
- Evidence of student growth and student achievement
- Successful experience in facilitating adult learning.
- Ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships with administrators, teachers, and staff
- The ability to use data to improve instruction
