Position Summary: The warehouse manager is a hands-on role that is responsible for planning, organizing, executing, and leading all material movements within the warehouse including, but not limited to, incoming deliveries, stocking materials, staging materials for upcoming projects, and delivery/shipping activities. In addition, the warehouse manager will be responsible for all relevant documentation, data entry, inventory management systems, and coordination of materials movement within the warehouse. To fulfill these critical actions, the manager must be able to operate a forklift, have great organizational skills, and above average communication skills.
Essential Duties:
- Ensures adherence to all company Rules, Guidelines, SOPs, and Work Instructions.
- Prioritizes and drives continuous improvement activities within the warehouse and inventory processes.
- Arranges and organizes the warehouse storage/layout to optimize item groupings and/or process workflows.
- Ensures all inventory items and locations are properly labeled for accurate item identification.
- Establishes warehouse bin locations in the Epicor P21 system and ensures inventory is properly located within these bins within the Epicor P21 system.
- Establishes and maintains a clean well-organized warehouse that is representative of an industry-leading supplier.
- Receives items/shipments in the Epicor P21 system based on a 3-way match utilizing packing slip, purchase order, and supplier part number identification.
- Processes customer returns (RMAs) according to the established business guidelines.
- Process shipments/transfers in the Epicor P21 System and process within the logistics provider systems.
- Assist walk-in customers in identifying the appropriate products and solutions for their requirements.
- Create customer orders in the Epicor P21 system for walk-in customers/front counter sales.
- Assist with pickups/deliveries of items where this may be required.
- Perform cycle counts and quarterly physical inventory counts based on established targets.
- Maintains documentation and keeps accurate records of warehouse activities.
- Assists Purchasing with recommended replenishment methods and replenishment levels for re-ordering stock items.
- Ensures the safety of all customers and team members that may be present within the warehouse areas.
- Ensure effective and safe use of warehouse equipment (i.e., banding equipment, cutting tools, stairs, forklifts).
- Ability to exhibit and maintain a helpful, friendly, positive attitude even during stressful situations.
- Responsible for supervising, recruiting, hiring, training, evaluating/reviewing, counseling, and developing direct reports.
- Supervise and execute all daily warehouse activities while working to maximize efficiency, minimize staff overtime, and create a positive collaborative work environment.
- Perform any other duties or assignments as directed by Management.
Hours/Shift:
- Day Shift
- Monday to Friday
- 6:30 am to approximately 4:30 pm
- Available to work extended hours as needed.
Work Setting/Location:
- In-Person
- Warehouse/Office – minimum 50% of the time focused in the warehouse.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work within a warehouse with various temperature ranges throughout the year.
- Ability to (visually read small print) speak and hear clearly in English while communicating with customers, staff, and management.
- Ability to see well enough to read and interpret reports, diagrams, and manuals, and operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to utilize hands/legs/body to operate a computer, utilize warehouse equipment such as warehouse stairs, pallet jack, and forklift, and move boxes/containers/parts within all areas of the warehouse effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to physically reconfigure shelving/racking/pallet racking to maximize the storage capacity.
- Physical strength, and stamina, to stand and walk within a warehouse environment for a full shift.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and routinely move at least 50 pounds.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years in a warehouse role.
- 1-3 years experience in a leadership position within material handling, supply chain management, or manufacturing.
- Proven track record in supervision of warehouse employees including Hiring, Training, and Termination.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interpret and create technical reports, standard operating procedures, and presentations.
- Valid state driver’s license with safe driving record.
- Ability to travel as needed (local/domestic).
- Ability to operate forklift safely and effectively.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
- Hands-on experience/knowledge within ERP/Accounting software such as Prophet 21, QuickBooks/FreshBooks, or other similar applications.
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- Associate degree (or equivalent) in logistics, business, or supply chain management preferred.
- Ability to fluently read, write, and speak the English language.
Preferred Experience:
- 3-5 years of warehouse management experience.
- Experience and proficiency within Epicor Prophet 21.
