Position Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at our Integrative Primary Care office. As a vital member of our healthcare team, you will play a key role in providing exceptional patient care, emphasizing customer service, and ensuring patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Assist healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care in an integrative medicine setting.
- Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, documenting patient history, preparing patients for examinations and procedures, venipuncture and blood specimen processing, and preparing procedure trays and supplies.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers.
- Conduct basic diagnostic tests (EKG, PEFR, vision screening) and assist with medical procedures (joint injections, hormone pellet insertion, wound care).
Customer Service and Patient Satisfaction:
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment.
- Respond promptly and professionally to patient inquiries and concerns, both in person and over the phone.
- Maintain a positive and empathetic attitude towards patients, addressing their needs with care and understanding.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement strategies for improving patient satisfaction and enhancing the overall patient experience.
- Work as a team to grow our patient panel by creating “raving fans” of our current patients so they will recommend us to their friends.
Administrative Duties:
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and verifying insurance information.
- Have clear understanding of the Palm Beach Accountable Care Organization (PBACO) Quality Measures for patient care and work as team with provider to meet these measures.
- Manage the PBACO Caretracker alerts for patient care.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters and medical procedures.
- Coordinate referrals and follow-up appointments for patients as needed.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations and guidelines, including HIPAA and OSHA standards, including personal appearance and infection control.
- Adhere to the Wellness First Employee Handbook guidelines including timely attendance and performance.
- Bring to work each day a positive attitude, ready to go the extra mile for patients and coworkers.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical processes and protocols.
- Maintain proficiency in medical assisting skills through ongoing training and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent training.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in primary care or integrative medicine.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in basic medical procedures and use of medical equipment.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
