Install, repair, upgrade, and configure computer and networking hardware and software
- Repair and maintain servers and system components; perform back-ups as needed
- Assist with support of agency-wide internet services, e-mail and networks
- Maintain system security identities, login credentials and access rights across disparate systems
- Assist with maintaining IT documentation, including tracking of fixed assets and other agency property, updating checklists and “how-to” documents, revising network diagrams and similar shared lists and documents
- Support telephone systems and mobile communications and related equipment and devices
- Update equipment configurations, install new equipment, diagnose voice communication problems and work with service providers and their technicians to resolve problems
- Identify, analyze and recommend solutions for agency-wide and individual user needs for computer hardware, peripherals and software.
. Oversee operation of agency-owned/based fire and security systems, CCTV surveillance and monitoring equipment, electronic locks and facility access controls.
- Provide training and resources to employees and workgroups on application of information technology to their work

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Comprehensive knowledge of PC hardware, Windows operating systems and common business software applications such as Microsoft Office
- Extensive knowledge of IP networking, protocols, routing and switching, VPN, configuring routers, switches and security appliances in a network of moderate size
- Substantial knowledge of Windows client and server operating systems in a network environment
- General knowledge concerning configuration and maintenance of wireless networking equipment, such as access points and bridges
- General knowledge regarding conventional analog, digital and wireless telephone equipment
- Knowledge of and ability to remain current with rapidly changing capabilities and limitations of information systems and computer and communications technology
- Advanced critical-thinking skills analyzing IT-related problems, developing and testing hypothesis and discovering and recommending appropriate solutions
- Considerable ability to configure, install, upgrade and repair Windows PCs, servers and peripheral devices
- Considerable ability to organize and maintain written and electronic documentation
- Ability to understand and implement technical computer language and manuals
- Ability to, clearly and respectfully, communicate orally and in writing

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.39 - $38.35 per hour
