Under the direct supervision of the Chief Clinical Operations Officer or designee, and in close coordination with program managers and coordinators, the Clinical Supervisor provides clinical supervision, oversight, and related administration and coordination duties for assigned programs/catchment area. Additionally, the Clinical Supervisor conducts psychosocial assessments, treatment/service planning, crisis response, individual, group and family therapy, and staff training/support as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Know and respond to Agency philosophy, policies, and Standards of Conduct.
- Understand and comply with all Agency contracts and State regulations.
- Works closely with program managers, coordinators, staff, therapists, and collateral professionals to ensure clinical needs of clients are being met. Supports program staff in crisis response and clinical decision making in close consultation with Chief Clinical Operations Officer or designee (e.g. Assistant Clinical Director, Clinical Director).
- Provides clinical activities including psychosocial assessments, treatment/service plan development, safety plan development, crisis assessments, therapy services, treatment reviews, staff training/support, and clinical program development as assigned. Completes documentation of activities in accordance with agency policy.
- Responsible for providing clinical supervision to intake, triage, and pre-admission procedures for all referrals in assigned catchment area/programs. Ensures new clients are linked in a timely manner to proper resources and agency services.
- Provides and documents clinical oversight to ongoing assessment, treatment planning, monthly/quarterly review, and service delivery process. Reviews case documentation regularly to ensure quality of care and compliance with program model and all applicable regulations.
- Ensures proper discharge and after care planning for all clients in assigned catchment area/programs. Completes documentation of activities in accordance with agency policy.
- Responsible for staff recruitment, interviewing, and training as directed.
- Ensures that all staff in assigned catchment area/programs meets program and agency training requirements. Identifies ongoing training needs for staff. Develops/conducts training as indicated and/or assigned.
- Completes logs and training sign-in sheets for all clinical supervision and training conducted.
- Provide documented support, consultation, supervision and oversight to assigned staff at a minimum of 2-4 hours per month.
- Meets with staff and Program Manager/Coordinator to monitor client outcomes and CQI initiatives as they pertain to program operations and clinical care of clients.
- Responds to critical incidents immediately, provides clinical support and follow-up, and ensures timely, accurate reporting of incidents in accordance with agency policy.
- Participates in community outreach on behalf of the program, customer service to referring entities, management meetings/retreats, clinical seminars, and trainings as assigned.
- Maintains a commitment to evidenced based practice and participates in meetings/consultation groups as assigned.
- Maintains knowledge of and compliance with all policies impacting service delivery (i.e. CYFD, COA, managed care guidelines, Medicaid regulations).
- Upholds applicable Code of Ethics (e.g. NASW, ACA, APA).
- Is on-call 24 hours per day, seven (7) days per week with other professionals as designated by the Agency for clients and program staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters, Doctorate, or Medical Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Guidance and Counseling, Psychology, Psychiatry, Psychiatric Nursing, or related health field, plus any combination or graduate studies in the above areas.
- New Mexico Independent Licensure in one or more of the following: MD/DO, PhD, PsyD, LPCC, LCSW, LMFT, LPAT, CNP, RN.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a licensed clinician working with SED/NBD children or SMI/SUD adults.
- Ability to develop, organize, plan, and document clinical services; and ability to supervise clinical personnel.
- Ability to maintain professional standards of conduct and effective working relationships with clients, parents, regulatory agencies, and other professionals.
- Must be computer literate in order to effectively maintain compliance with BHSD Standards and requirements for use of computerized client assessments, data systems, etc.
- Must have and maintain current, valid NM Driver’s License. Must also have and maintain clean driving record, as well as auto insurance.
- Bi-lingual/Bi-cultural preferred (English/Spanish).
