Role:
The “Designer” role at IMEDCO is a full time/salaried position that requires computer-aided design and drafting skills to create coordination and production drawings for IMEDCO shielding projects. Position will report directly to the Manager of Site Planning and Design.
Company:
IMEDCO shielding products consist of a copper and wood modular panel system and installation kit to assemble custom MRI rooms at hospitals and universities across the country. Our “shielding product” creates a clean-room that is required for each MRI machine to take clear photos and scans of patients. The design position is a critical role that is responsible to create a solution that not only is properly sized to match the available space, but is also designed according to shielding protocols to meet this demanding clean room specification. Each project is custom and requires space planning to coordinate all MEP services that are required inside the suite. A designer will have the opportunity to work on approximately 25 rooms per year.
Job Duties:
1. Learn, maintain and develop understanding of shielding principals to achieve performance requirements
2. Work with IMEDCO Project Managers to determine available room space and MEP design coordination
3. Generate drawings to reflect proposed MRI suite design
4. Evaluate 3-D laser scan to validate or adjust design
5. Generate in-house and third party production drawings following customer approval and field verification
6. Generate Bill of Materials for projects in accordance with IMEDCO protocol
7. Perform field measurements and/or laser scan of existing conditions if required
Job Requirements/Expectations
1. Must have 2 years working experience with latest versions of Revit (2021-2024)
2. Must be able to read and understand architectural design package including drawings and specifications
3. Must be able to read and understand mechanical design package
4. Must be able to work with imperial and metric systems and be able to convert between the two
5. Willingness to put in extra time if necessary to complete maintain project schedules
6. Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
7. Familiarity with the following software
- Revit
- ACAD
- Bluebeam PDF software
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
9. Ability to sit and be productive for extended periods of time (8-10hrs a day)
10. Use Time Clock to track hours spent on projects
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $1,250.00 - $1,380.00 per week
