Production Partner
Love By The Slice Baking & Catering Company, a local retail and wholesale baking company in Tacoma known for its variety of flavorful sweet treats, is expanding. We are looking for a Production Partner, responsible for decorating specialty baked goods and small sweet treats, while consistently delivering the level of quality required to maintain its vision.
We are in search for someone with food decorating and creative arts background. This position is responsible to decorate food to specifications as well as provide guidance on design options for new product lines. This position creates the visual appeal our customers experience at each retail service location. Image, presentation, and quality are of critical importance and professionalism must be maintained at all times.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Production Partner of Love By The Slice Baking & Catering Company decorates cakes and pastries with designs using icing bag/paper cone. Prepares, rolls and dips baked and prepared specialty food items. Trims uneven surfaces of cake or cuts and shapes cake to required size using knife. Spreads icing between layers and on surfaces of cake using spatula. Tints white icing, candy coating with food coloring. Dips specialty food on sticks into tubs of candy coating. Inserts die of specific design into tip of bag or paper cone and fills bag or cone with colored icing. Squeezes bag to eject icing while moving bag with free-arm writing motions to form design on cake. Forms decoration on flower nail and transfers decorations to cake using scissors. Maintains product organization in freezer or cooler. Mixes whipping cream and butter cream. Suggests products and designs. Cleans work area. Monitors supplies, inventories and transmits fulfillment of orders to Bakery Production Manager.
JOB DUTIES:
Love By The Slice Baking & Catering Company Pastry Decorators are generally responsible for completing the following job duties:
1. Ten (10) years food decorating experience
2. Provide customer service as currently defined by the employer within the scope of the position and within company policy.
3. Decorate cakes, cookies and pastries.
4. Mix icing, whipping cream, fondants, and butter cream for decoration.
5. Roll, shape and place fondant and/or fondant pieces
6. Dip pastries into candy coating, chocolate, etc.
7. Read orders, tags, displays, and recipes.
8. Organize and clean cake decorating area and freezer or cooler.
9. Read various sales and production reports.
10. Other duties as assigned.
