The Opportunity - Controller
As a Controller at WillStrong, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of the company. The Controller will manage all aspects of the accounting department, ensuring the efficient and professional operation of the company through meticulous coordination and communication.
Key Responsibilities of the Controller
- Supervise Accounting Staff: Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering their growth as the company expands.
- Job Cost Reporting: Collaborate with the CFO and project managers to oversee the monthly job cost report process, updating work-in-progress reports.
- Client Billing: Prepare monthly client billing statements.
- Subcontractor Management: Collect subcontractor lien releases and maintain NTO logs.
- Insurance Tracking: Track and collect insurance certificates.
- Budgeting: Organize and administer the budgeting process.
- Accounting Functions: Supervise all accounting functions, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
- Management Reporting: Prepare monthly management reports.
- Proformas Management: Oversee the preparation and management of proformas.
- Financial Reporting: Assist with quarterly and yearly financial reporting.
- Additional Tasks: Perform additional tasks as assigned by executive team members.
Qualifications of Controller
- Experience: Proven experience with job cost accounting in residential home construction (track home) or commercial construction.
- Work Experience: At least 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field (degree may be waived based on work experience).
- Technical Skills: Excellent Excel/Spreadsheet skills; experience with Sage 100, TimberScan, and Procore software is highly regarded.
- Communication: Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with construction industry practices and terminology.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
