North Suffolk is looking for an Administrative Assistant to join the Medical Team! The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support for the North Suffolk Community Services (NSCS) medical office setting. The Medical Administrative Assistant will handle administrative and operational daily responsibilities for the medical teams throughout North Suffolk clinics. They ensure that all activities and processes run smoothly. Medical administrative assistants need to possess excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative support in a medical office setting.
This position is full time in a medical office setting.
What you'll do:

Greet and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner.

Support MD/NPs who are working remotely by assisting clerical tasks and scheduling.

Maintain & manage providers’ schedules and caseload to maximize MD/NP productivity.

Provide medical administrative support including scheduling appointments, answering phones, and maintaining patient records.

Maintain Excel spreadsheets and data reports.
-
Document all patient contacts, follow ups, and medical chart management.

Assist with common communications from providers to patients (verbal, written, or electronic).

Create/reschedule medical evaluation appointments for patients and document all necessary information in the medical records.

Maintain daily Provider On Call calendar for all clinics.

Take and organize notes for all medical staff meetings.

Assist and support the ordering of labs on behalf of providers.

Organize patient schedule for blood draw labs and input results to data bank.
What you'll need:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED completion required
-
Associate's Degree preferred.

Skills & Experience:
-
Previous office experience and computer skills required. Knowledge of Windows applications required (Word, Excel, and Access)

Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, medical and documentation terminology.

Be or be able to become CPR/FA certified according to NSCS policy.

Bilingual Spanish preferred.
