We are a high-end, award-winning bakery known for using premium-quality ingredients to create exceptional cakes and a variety of sweet and savory pastries. Our bakery has been featured on renowned platforms such as the Food Network, Today Show, USA Today, Food & Wine magazine, and more. Currently, we are seeking a dedicated team member to join our cake decorating department, primarily focusing on prep work with opportunities for growth within the position. Full-time availability is required.
If you possess the following qualities, we would love to hear from you! Our ideal candidate for the cake decorating role should have:
Experience as a baker, preferably with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in a high-volume bakery
Demonstrated expertise in cake decoration, supported by a portfolio showcasing your work.
- Experience in working with buttercream (swiss meringue is the primary butter cream we use ) and fondant, including covering, sculpting, and creating edible flowers such as buttercream flowers, wafer paper, palette knife, modeling chocolate, fondant, and among other technique
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior team members.
- Strong organizational skills and a commitment to cleanliness.
- Pride in producing quality results and a strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to work a schedule that includes weekends and/or holidays.
- A creative, energetic, friendly, and outgoing personality.
- Excellent multitasking abilities.
- The capacity to work both independently and collaboratively with other team members.
- Preference will be given to candidates who also possess:
- Excellent customer service skills, with a cheerful and approachable demeanor.
- Knowledge of food allergies and expertise in preventing cross-contamination.
Physical requirements for this position include:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stamina to stand on your feet for the duration of a shift.
