Job Description: Safety Valve Technician
Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled Safety Valve Technician to join our team. The Safety Valve Technician will be responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, and installation of safety valves used in various industrial settings, both in the shop and in the field. This role requires a thorough understanding of safety valve mechanics, adherence to industry standards, and a commitment to ensuring the reliability and functionality of safety valves.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspection and Testing:
- Perform visual inspections and functional tests on safety valves according to regulatory requirements and manufacturer specifications.
- Evaluate valves for wear, corrosion, and other potential issues that could affect performance.
- Maintenance and Repair:
- Disassemble, clean, and reassemble safety valves using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Replace worn or damaged parts such as seals, springs, and discs to ensure proper operation.
- Adjust valve settings to achieve specified pressure settings and capacity.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, repairs, and adjustments performed on safety valves.
- Generate reports detailing findings, recommendations, and actions taken.
- Installation and Calibration:
- Install new safety valves or reinstall refurbished valves in accordance with installation procedures and guidelines.
- Calibrate valves to ensure they operate within specified pressure and flow parameters.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all work complies with relevant safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Follow established safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) during all tasks.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Safety Valve Technician or in a related role within the industrial or manufacturing sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of safety valve operation, maintenance, and repair procedures.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, diagrams, and blueprints related to safety valves.
- Proficiency in using precision tools and equipment for testing and calibration.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in diagnosing valve issues.
- Effective communication skills for reporting findings and recommendations.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations (e.g., ASME, API, NBIC) applicable to safety valves.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in valve maintenance and repair is preferred.
- Previous experience working with safety valves in a maintenance or technician role.
- Additional certifications or coursework related to safety valves is advantageous.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require work in industrial environments, including plants, refineries, or manufacturing facilities.
- Physical demands may include lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
- Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is mandatory.

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
