We are looking for an entry level, full-time, Maintenance Technician who is highly motivated to learn and contribute to the fast growth of our local Bio-Technology Manufacturing firm. To be successful in this role you must a diligent work ethic, demonstrate a mechanical understanding, problem solve using this understanding, and collaborate with multiple stakeholders. You must be an excellent communicator and you must be proactive, a self-starter and be able to thrive within a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure that electrical and pneumatic systems operate properly.
- Inspect equipment and systems to identify problems or issues.
- Consult blueprints or building plans to identify best solution to resolve systems or equipment issues.
- Diagnose, repair and replace industrial equipment and machinery.
- Communicate any maintenance needs to management.
- Perform a wide range of duties within the plant as necessary.
- May need to respond to emergencies outside of normal business hours as needed and work overtime.
- May work in varying weather conditions, in dust and noisy areas. Areas may be hazardous around forklifts, machinery, and trucks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational or Skill Requirements:
- Requires at least two (2) years’ experience within maintenance field.
- Thorough knowledge of general plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repair.
- Ability to read blueprints, building plans, and repair manuals.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to Organize/Prioritize/Multi-task.
Physical Requirements:
- Substantial walking, bending, stooping, lifting, or working in awkward or strained positions required
