Description: We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse for a challenging and rewarding position in our healthcare facility. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare center.
Qualifications:
- Licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Nebraska.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS required OR willing and able to complete.
- Degree from an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience as a staff nurse.
Essential Functions:
- Availability: Must be available from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with an 8-hour shift within this time frame.
- Conducts ongoing and systematic assessment/data collection, focusing on physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status.
- Implements care in a knowledgeable, skilled, consistent manner to achieve desired patient outcomes through nursing processes.
- Verifies surgical/procedure site with the patient and according to surgery schedule and consent.
- Recognizes legal and policy limits of individual practice.
- Establishes priorities of patient care based on essential needs and available resources.
- Performs efficiently in emergency patient situations, following established protocols.
- Demonstrates applied knowledge in medical/surgical patient care, pain assessment, pharmaceuticals, anesthetic agents, proficient IV skills, laboratory values, safety, and legal issues.
- Practices effective problem identification and resolution skills for sound decision-making.
- Performs timely, accurate, and concise documentation in the patient record.
- Works collaboratively as part of a team in delivering patient care.
- Assesses learning needs according to the patient’s level of understanding and readiness to learn.
- Maintains patient Normothermia.
- Adapts approach to patient age, utilizing a developmental perspective.
- Provides age-specific interventions related to safety issues.
- Checks and documents defibrillator functions regularly.
- Maintains CPR/ACLS/PALS certification as required.
- Attends mandatory in-services and participates in staff meetings.
- Remains flexible, adaptive, and open to new ideas and approaches.
- Treats all patients equally, adopting the center's Patient Rights policy.
- Reviews and carries out physician orders in a professional manner.
- Willingness to assist with other duties when asked.
Physical Demands: The physical demands include sitting, conversing, and listening, using hands to touch or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reaching with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must lift and/or carry 20 pounds regularly, push/pull over 50 pounds regularly (i.e., patient in a wheelchair), and stand and/or walk at least five hours per day.
Occupational Exposure:
- Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
- Frequent exposure to chemical hazards.
- May encounter radiation hazards.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $29.25 - $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
