Highgates Management is seeking a reliable, experienced Maintenance Technician who is focused on quality repairs to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair management of the property. This position is full time, hourly plus room for growth. This position is seeking a handy, ambitious individual with electrical, plumbing, or handyman experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Maintain the day-to-day upkeep and repairs of the property under the direction of the Property Manager.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, appliances, and electrical.
- Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC units and water heaters.
- Complete painting and minor carpentry work in the properties.
- Repair and replace light fixtures, switches, receptacles, smoke detectors, photocells, and thermostats.
- Unclog plumbing drains of all types.
- Repair or replace plumbing fixtures.
- Perform occupied work requests and apartment turns.
- Complete Make Ready Check Lists.
- Notify the Property Manager immediately of any unusual occurrences and/or damage that has taken place on the property.
- Must be available for on-call after hours emergencies
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 3+ yrs of plumbing experience required.
- HVAC knowledge required and must possess strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Working knowledge of drywall, key cutting, and fire extinguishers is required.
- Experience with apartment maintenance is a plus.
- Self-motivated individual with good problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic.
- Strong customer service and follow up skills, including maintaining a professional, courteous attitude with residents, vendors, contractors, team members and Property Manager at all times.
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks, document progress and complete them under time constraints.
- Must be results and detail oriented, while thriving in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
- Ability to work independently, but operate in a team environment.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Must be willing to consent to a background check and drug screen post acceptance.
- Commitment to safety and operational excellence
- Ability and willingness to work on-call after hours for emergency property maintenance.
