Position Summary
The Communications Specialist: Executive Assistant on contract conducts research on the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), its stakeholders and position in the CBRN industry. You will use research results, and Director’s Intent, to develop the agency communications strategy; and then implements and evaluates that strategy across all media outreach used. This evaluation will be used to collaborate with DTRA PA on continuing updates to the communications strategy. This position will be in person.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following as additional responsibilities may be needed:
· Perform Office Maintenance Duties for the Chief
· Perform Executive Assistance Duties for the Chief
· Disseminate the Director’s Intent and the Agency’s authority, capability, and mission messaging to all stakeholders’ groups utilizing the developed communications strategy.
· Develop and monitor the training guidance for personnel designated by Directorates or Offices as points of contact for the respective Directorates or Offices.
· Monitor materials and copy developed to ensure consistency of Director’s intent message delivery, from press release, through leadership article to blog posts.
· Work with all key Agency personnel for input to strategy, results of In Progress Reports, execution analysis, and metric determination for assessment of success.
· Ensure all content is optimized for each specific audience.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Communications Specialist must:
· Adhere to Department of Defense and DTRA style guidance, and communications policies, regulations, and memoranda.
· Have a working knowledge of communications techniques and experience with strategic communications.
· Be capable of intra-agency coordination and the development of standards to ensure a standardized experience ensuring Agency POCs know what to expect.
· Manage competing priorities with effective deadline planning and attention to detail.
· Have strong Microsoft Suite skills beyond basic abilities.
· Have a minimum Secret Clearance
Experience
· 3-5 years of experience in writing for an agency audience.
· 2-3 years experience with strategic communication
· 1 Year Executive Assistance Experience
· Previous experience with DTRA/the DTRA audience
· Bachelor’s (Or equivalent experience)
