Job Description:
The Permitting Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating the seamless acquisition of permits and approvals essential for our residential construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitating the ordering, tracking, and submission of permit applications including plans, surveys, energy calculations, truss designs, and engineering documents.
- Reviewing lot-specific plans and permitting materials to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Organizing and uploading necessary community-level documents onto project-specific folders at the onset of each project.
- Managing payments and documentation for impact fees, permitting application fees, and red tag fees.
- Coordinating general contractor licensing with local municipalities, including bonds, insurance certificates, and annual renewal fees.
- Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with Permitting Vendors, Builders, and Area Construction Managers to ensure smooth operations.
- Participating in Weekly Starts meetings with the VP of Construction to communicate permit statuses and upcoming requirements.
- Assisting the Operations Coordinator as needed to achieve project start goals.
- Updating JDE with key milestone dates related to permitting for better workflow visibility.
- Collaborating with the Land Coordinator to update accounting on impact fee credits or changes in permit fee budgets as communicated by municipalities.
- Working closely with County Plan Reviewers, Government staff, and Permit Runners to expedite code-compliant permit issuance.
Requirements:
- Minimum of two years of office administration experience, ideally within the construction industry.
- Proven experience in processing and expediting permits.
- Excellent phone etiquette and ability to manage multiple communication channels effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Email.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
