MANAGER, SOFTWARE QUALITY ASSURANCE
REPORTS TO: Director, Product
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Be a champion of quality and operational excellence, establish the testing strategy and quality metrics for quality measurement and operational excellence
- Design, implement, and execute a consistent, scalable testing management process including test automation, test design, and test execution to deliver high-quality software in rapid iterations
- Implement and integrate the cutting-edge testing techniques and test best practices for Cloud releases
- Drive the continuous improvements on a testing strategy
- Manage and oversee releases and own the release strategy
- Coordinate and administer user acceptance testing with customer service and support teams
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging trends in QA and software development, sharing knowledge and insights
- Serve as a leader across the Software Quality department, including mentorship and development responsibilities for members of the team.
- Improve the efficiency of the software quality organization through effective leadership, identification of individual and group training, and overall people development.
- Define and evangelize quality metrics and software development lifecycle improvements to support the Software Quality department’s work across the Technology Organization.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science related field, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree is required.
- 10+ years of related experience in a technical environment
- 3+ years of experience managing a team of QA analysts preferred
- Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
- Strong communication skills including the ability to communicate across teams
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to learn and apply new technologies
- Understanding of the basic concept and workflow of software development and quality assurance
- Enthusiasm to dig into technical systems and to troubleshoot issues
- Excellent attention to detail
- Knowledge of Software Testing Principles such as STLC, test strategy, test case creation and testing types
- Familiar with Software Development Procedures such as SDLC, code merge and deployment process, and Agile practices
- Experience and ability to work within an Agile framework, using testing tools such as Microsoft Azure DevOps, for bug tracking and test execution
- Experience with development / testing tools for Android and iOS (i.e., Android Studio, Android SDK, ADB, DDMS, Xcode, etc.).
- Familiarity with software code management tools (i.e., Github, Bitbucket, TeamCity, Visual Studio, TeamCity, TestFlight, Crashlytics, etc.).
- Ability to document issues
- Excellent organizational, time management and creative thinking skills
- Works independently and be self-directed combined with strong collaboration skills, building relationships with the business and technical teams is highly required for the role.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sitting for prolonged periods of time in a temperature-controlled office environment for approximately 8 hours per day.
- Frequent and repetitive use of fingers, hands, and arms for tasks such as typing, writing, moving a mouse, etc.
- Occasionally lifts office equipment, supplies, or other items of approximately 20lbs.
- Ability to travel by air, vehicle, or other means approximately 5% of the time.
- To accommodate travel needs, must be able to transport suitcase and laptop estimated at 40lbs.
- To accommodate travel needs, must be able to operate rental or personal motor vehicle.
