Our Hearing Aid Clinic, Elite Hearing is a local hearing healthcare practice that strives to bring the best overall experience to it's patients and is looking for a new Patient Care Coordinator/Hearing Instrument Specialist Intern to join the team.
The Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) is the face of the clinic and the patient’s guide throughout his or her Journey to better hearing. The PCC is responsible for coordinating all aspects of patient care. This includes providing a professional and inviting front office experience, managing the clinic schedule and patient accounts, maintaining patient records, organizing office flow, leading patient retention efforts and asking for referrals in our overall mission of helping more people hear better every day.
As an Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills in a supportive hearing healthcare environment. This position will provide a unique and valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals. Responsibilities
- Greet all patients warmly and answer phones in a timely manner.
- Ask for potential referrals and understand current marketing promotions.
- Appointment scheduling and data entry using company scheduling protocols and internal scheduling database software. (Sycle Pro)
- Keep our office ready by managing our office supply inventory per company approved lists
- Manage and record accurate account of petty cash, bank deposits and credit transactions
- Maintain office inventory
- Work with patient directly to collect all insurance documentation and understand current HIPAA laws. Confirm any insurance Benefits.
- Drive appointments and clinic revenue by making outbound & follow up calls to potential and existing patients
- Assist hearing healthcare professionals in providing best in class patient care and support
- Perform basic procedures under supervision
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using our point of sale system
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families
- Assist with administrative tasks and work on all aspects of learning how to become a Hearing Instrument Specialist
- Self study all materials necessary to pass the International Hearing Society's Hearing Instrument Specialist exam as well as the practical exam
- Receive hands on and practical training needed to become an expert in the hearing healthcare industry by shadowing and supporting our local Hearing Care Professional
Qualifications
- Exceptional professionalism and can clearly articulate with our patients in face to face, verbal and written communications.
- This role is fast paced and requires you to have both a strong organization and sales mindset.
- As the face of our office, you will need proactive customer service skills and the ability to exhibit friendly and courteous behavior in all patient interactions.
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred but not required
- Minimum of 2 year's of previous front office, preferably in a customer service or sales setting. Previous Hearing Healthcare Practice experience is appreciated.
- Superior multi-tasking and time management discipline
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff and support services
- Skilled in handling sensitive matters and patients with tact, courtesy, and discretion
- Technically savvy with computer and systems including intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite specifically word and excel, and ability to troubleshoot printers.
- Familiarity with hearing care and ability to be respectful in helping patients on their journey to better hearing
- Ability to assess patient needs and provide appropriate care
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and use of electronic systems including the software used with various manufacturers.
