Position Title: Senior Accountant
Supervisor: Director of Finance (DOF)
Position Description:
The Senior Accountant position will be acting on behalf of and in the best interest of The Marian Group, or any subsidiary thereof. This position will work closely with the Director of Finance to facilitate and apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The responsibility of this position is managing specialized work efficiently, with confidence and competence. The position requires high attention to details, concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to tasks completed on time. The person in this position will take work seriously, have a strong sense of duty, and is disciplined. A somewhat faster-than-average pace will be the norm for this position. Detailed, specialized work is the major focus. The person in this position will require clearly defined work, responsibilities, and reporting relationships, ongoing and thorough training opportunities to develop expertise and increase confidence. The position will provide security in a stable work environment, allowing the person to plan for, focus on and complete tasks at hand.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and analyzing project specific financial statements.
- Responsible for managing project budgets and cash flow.
- Lead and assist in the completion and tracking of project compliance requirements (i.e. Annual audits, tax returns, cost certifications, etc.) working in a team setting with outside 3rd party professional firms.
- Lead and assist in the tracking of project development progress towards forecasted completion date(s) and the financial impact to the project for any variance from that date(s).
- Execute and improve accounts receivable, accounts payable and month end processes in alignment with company objectives.
- Assist in the collection of developer fees, project cash flows and reimbursements of predevelopment costs.
- Work closely with the development team implement cost control measures for projects.
- Assist Asset Management team in preparation of project draw tracker and manage monthly construction draw process.
- Assist with the tracking and collection of project related equity installments.
- Complete AR/AP related tasks for multiple entities.
- Assist with monthly close processes including preparation of monthly journal entries, analyses, and completion of credit card/bank account reconciliations.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Contribute to the development and review of project annual operating budgets and performance projections.
- Support the Director of Finance and accounting team as needed.
- Responsibilities may change with limited or no notice based upon new law, industry climate, and/or needs of the company.

- QuickBooks, Smartsheet, Microsoft Excel, Outlook
- Two to three years of experience in Real Estate, Construction, Property Management or Multi-Company environment
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
