A unique and rare opportunity to start and develop an Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) program for grades K to 5th at The Villages Charter School Autism Center. We are looking for a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) who will have an imprint on policy, vision, and all behavioral programming. The successful candidate will work one-to-one with students as well as directing a team of registered behavior technicians (RBT) and related services personnel with a primary focus on safety and client progress.
This BCBA will ensure high-level, developmentally appropriate ABA behavioral and instructional strategies for students on all levels of the autism spectrum. The BCBA will serve as the campus data analyst and provide RBT supervision for the campus.
Candidates must be experienced in a school setting with the content, design, implementation, and oversight of ABA behavior strategies. This candidate must demonstrate the ability to observe student behavior and provide direction to the RBTs. The BCBA will develop ABA programs to promote a positive school culture that focuses on implementing a best-practice educational model to achieve optimal results for students.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
To provide leadership and behavioral expertise for all aspects of an ABA program to enhance student growth and family partnerships.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The expectations include the following and other duties as assigned:

Work directly with staff to support students who exhibit challenging behaviors, which may range from mild to extreme

Work with staff to ensure ABA-based skill acquisition programs are implemented in the areas of academics and functional/life skills

Ensure implementation of Promoting Emergence of Advanced Knowledge (PEAK) programming for students in need of Discrete Trial Teaching
-
Perform functional behavior assessments (FBA) for individual students
-
Train staff in the implementation of interventions and programming
-
In collaboration with the Director, adopt a curriculum for all school programming and oversee the implementation of the adopted curriculum

Develop and ensure implementation of data collection strategies to monitor student response to intervention
-
Ensure data is being reported and analyzed weekly to monitor and adjust student programming as needed

Participate in the development of students’ Individual Education Plans (IEP) and in IEP meetings
-
Participate in problem-solving team meetings and tasks
-
Collect data and prepare a variety of reports to document assessment, interventions, and student progress

Provide supervision to BCBA candidates, if needed

Hiring and onboarding new employees

Interact with and support parents, including relevant training

Support and direct office personnel

Promote and support staff morale and staff growth

Coordinate with other schools for intake and inclusion opportunities

Monitor behavior analytic literature and attend relevant workshops/conferences

Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Director

Assist in the development of policies, administrative guidelines, and implementation of strategies for behavioral services

Be familiar with federal and state regulations/laws that govern Exceptional Student Education (ESE) or special education
-
Work with human resources to ensure teacher/staff certification is accurate for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) instruction, ESE, and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

Work cooperatively with the Sumter County School District to ensure adherence to special education compliance, information exchange, coordination of efforts, and general support for decision-making

Oversee the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of K-12 curricula for ASD students

Oversee all professional development activities for staff

Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Director
QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s Degree or higher
-
Active Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) required with a track record of success implementing ABA as a school leader or other high-volume clinical setting

At least one year of supervised BCBA work experience
-
Three or more years of behavioral work (with children) experience preferred
-
At least five years of experience working with students with moderate to severe autism or related disabilities

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

Creative and critical thinker who can adjust programming and develop interventions for a diverse student population
ADA AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in the class require: stooping, crouching, reaching standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force. At times employees will frequently need to get on the floor and physically intervene using CPI techniques with students for short durations on a regular basis and occasionally for an extended period of time.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be full time for 260 days beginning on July 1. Benefits shall be paid consistent with the The Villages Charter School, Inc. (VCS) policy. Length of the work year and hours of employment are those established by TVCSAC Board of Directors.

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of TVCSAC policy on evaluations of personnel.
