The Patient Services Coordinator will be an integral member of the care team, striving to collaboratively provide a range of administrative support to practice staff and physicians in an ambulatory care setting and will be responsible for assisting with coordination of the day-to-day operations for the care team. The practice service coordinator will be expected to lead and manage projects.
- Proactively monitors clinic flow by reviewing providers schedules on a daily basis to identify areas of opportunity for level scheduling
- Delegates and distributes work, as necessary, to meet established deadlines/metrics.
- Plans, organizes and leads team meetings and huddles
- Manages special projects as assigned by providers
- Monitors all aspects of patient experience and suggests improvements or implements after discussion with the Practice Manager when needed
- Identifies system and operational problems through analysis of current processes. Recommends solutions and improvements.
- Assists in orienting and training of all new team members.
- Assists in the communication of department policies and procedures.
- Assists with presenting training sessions to staff
- Performs duties of Practice Service Coordinators level 2
- Schedules GI procedures
- Performs all other duties or special projects that are unit specific and that are appropriate to this position. Ensures the Practice Manager is informed regarding progress on assigned projects.
- Exceptional computer skills (including word processing, database, electronic mail, internet, and spreadsheets) required. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work with physicians and relate to their concerns on a one-to-one and group basis.
- Exceptional organizational skills, flexibility to handle multiple tasks and deadline pressures, and accurate attention to details.
