Pay:
$18.23 - $21.88
Coordinates the grounds maintenance, general landscaping and repairs activities involved in the repair and maintenance of County parks, boat ramps and facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure that timely repair and general maintenance to equipment and facilities are carried out, including working with and coordinating with Grounds Maintenance Field Supervisor and Grounds Maintenance Superintendent when necessary.
Coordinates the activities of other Grounds Maintenance Technicians assigned to the location.
Interpret and complete assigned tasks and work orders as required. Ensure that routine activities in grounds maintenance and general landscaping including mowing, edging, weed control, landscaping, etc. are completed within the timely manner.
Maintain facilities, i.e. empty trash cans, carpentry, minor plumbing and electrical repairs as well as janitorial duties.
Assisting and working with various users and the general public is necessary for event preparation and execution.
Observe and enforce safety regulations with other employees assigned to location. Ensure that required safety equipment and protective clothing for self and employees are up to standard.
Maintain county vehicles assigned to location in a clean and acceptable manner.
Must be willing to work a modified schedule and/or overtime when necessary.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Valid Florida driver’s license with clean driving record
Must possess a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Certified Playground Safety Inspector
Must possess a minimum of two years of experience in general maintenance repair work, landscaping, park maintenance or related recreational facility.
Any combination of education and experience may be substituted, so long as it provides the desired skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
