Trim Carpenter/Punch Out Technician
Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and versatile Trim Carpenter/Punch Out Technician to join our professional construction team in Noblesville, IN. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in all areas of construction with a focus on trim and finish work, both for new construction and remodels. A keen eye for detail and a high level of accountability are essential. The candidate must be capable of working independently and as part of a team. This position reports directly to the project-specific Construction Superintendent
Essential Job Functions:
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on advanced-level proficiency in the following:
- Trim carpentry
- Framing (wood and metal)
- Acoustical ceilings
- Drywall installation
- Painting
- Efficient and effective application of the skills and experience listed below
- Maintaining overall cleanliness of the project throughout all phases of construction
- Performing all other tasks deemed necessary by the reporting relationship structure
Qualifications and Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 3 years of direct responsibility for performing the punch-out process, including:
- Conducting inspections and creating punch lists for all trades in digital format
- Distributing punch lists to all trades
- Following up with all trades to ensure timely completion of punch list items
- Must possess an eye for detail
- Strong time management skills
- Basic working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Basic working knowledge of mobile communication technology (email, etc.)
- Basic understanding of the overall building process
- Commitment to quality workmanship
- Positive attitude
- Dependable, reliable, and self-motivated
- Aptitude to learn and advance
- Must have dependable transportation as work assignments may be at various property locations around the Indianapolis area
- Commitment to maintaining a clean work environment
- Experience with blueprints and specifications
- Experience with basic building layout
Preferred but not required
PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:
- Ordinary ambulation skills sufficient to visit various buildings multiple times per day
- Able to stand, walk and manipulate (life, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Stand and walk throughout the working day, as well as reach, stoop, bend, lift, carry and manipulate various items, supplies and equipment
- Good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, operate equipment and read technical information
- Ability to climb ladders, go on roofs, etc. to trouble shoot and assess
- Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain
- Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs.
