Overview:
Job Summary:
This position requires a computer-savvy, detail-oriented individual with great communication skills to assist with day-to-day operation of Palm Beach Civic Association and assist with association events. Work under the guidance of the CFO, Program and Operations Manager and Senior Manager of Membership Relations. This role will support the organization with duties including administrative tasks, event planning and setup, telephone interaction with members, setup and scheduling of committee meetings, and assistance with donor relations activities. Strong writing, communications and teamwork skills required.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assist with day-to-day administrative duties of the PBCA.
- Membership service calls as needed to secure new or renewed memberships.
- Data entry, filing, letter writing and reporting through Donor Perfect and other PBCA software programs to include renewal of memberships.
- Proofread reports and documents.
- Assist with preparation, setup and greeting at events.
- Assistance with meeting setup, scheduling, and minutes.
- Assist as needed in other office and event functions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal, relational, problem solving and communication skills; both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and manage time effectively to meet established timelines for work completion.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to pitch in as needed to support the organization.
- Ability to work traditional and non-traditional hours.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required—especially Excel and Word.
Experience Required
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in office administration and/or member development. Non-profit experience preferred.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field.
