Position Overview: We are seeking a driven and experienced Business Development Manager to join our client's team. This role is essential in driving new sales through cold outreach via email/phone and attending industry events. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, excellent communication skills, and a passion for public service and government.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive new sales by engaging potential customers through cold outreach via email and phone.
- Attend industry events to build and nurture relationships with potential clients.
- Engage with local government decision-makers to present and discuss our client's products.
- Autonomously iterate on outreach strategies to optimize engagement and conversion rates.
- Shape business development strategy and contribute to defining company culture and growth.
Product Overview: Our client's software addresses several technical challenges to improve government services, including:
- Workflow Management System: A powerful, flexible system for 80,000+ government agencies, streamlining processes for permits and licenses (akin to Salesforce for governments).
- Document Review Experience: A collaborative tool for reviewing, marking up, and approving technical documents (similar to Figma).
- Document Generation System: A system for automatically generating official documents like permits and licenses (comparable to Canva for documents).
- Payments Experience: An easy-to-use online payment system for permit/license fees, property taxes, and utility bills.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven track record of exceptional performance in roles requiring high-volume cold outreach, especially via phone.
- Evidence of extreme discipline, work ethic, and a “whatever it takes” mentality.
- Demonstrated interest in public service and government.
- Strong alignment with our core values.
- Familiarity with sales engagement and CRM software such as Outreach and Salesforce.
- 1-3 years of experience in sales, business development, outreach, project management, or relationship management.
