Growing Ophthalmology practice in Castle Hills seeking experienced Bi-lingual (Spanish) Surgical Coordinator for our growing surgery volume. The ideal candidate must be comfortable speaking with patients in a friendly manner while educating them on the procedure, practice, and working towards conversions on the phone & in person. The ideal candidate must be able to keep a smile on his or her face at all times and uphold a high standard of customer service with sales-goals in mind. Candidates must have excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to work on many projects simultaneously. Detail-oriented and organized, maintain accurate patient insurance records, focus and work quickly, and have strong communication skills in person and on the phone.
You will play an integral role in the flow of the center and help create a warm and engaging experience for our patients. We are looking for dependable, friendly, professional candidates.
Essential job duties/requirements:
- High volume of administrative detailed work, multi tasking, prioritizing and time management skills are a must
- Respond to information inquiries via phone & web to secure a consultation.
- Meet and greet potential candidates when they are in the office for an exam or surgery
- Receive all new patient calls on phone and convert to consultations
- Complete counseling at exam to explain procedure, discuss risks and benefits, arrange financing and payment, complete consent requirements, answer questions.
- Manage ongoing patient follow-up which includes preop testing, transportation requirements, medications, and other tasks.
- Verifies insurance benefits on surgery patients and determines if pre-certification is required by their insurance company
- Sets up the pre-operative clearance appointments with referring doctors' offices or surgeons
- Schedules surgeries with the facility
- Prepares surgery chart for surgeon, including pre-certifying surgery; obtaining the pre-op report from the referring doctor; typing the discharge letter and sending to referring doctors; reviewing with the patient the surgical instructions, appointment calendar and eye drops schedule for patient's pre and post-operative care.
- Enters surgery appointments and post op appointments in the scheduling system
- Communicate and provide billing team all necessary documentation for billing of procedures
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in a medical practice
- Ophthalmology experience preferred, knowledge of LASIK, cataract and other forms of corrective surgeries.
- Medical terminology
- High school diploma or equivalent
This is a full-time position Monday- Friday. 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Wage will be commensurate with previous experience and skill level. We offer a pleasant working environment and benefits. If interested, please submit your resume.
