Administrative Assistant/Accounting Clerk
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our team. The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, including data entry, processing transactions, and reconciling accounts. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent computer skills
Administrative
Handle incoming calls professionally
Provide administrative and clerical support to staff
Maintain office filing system and databases, enter and update information accordingly
Display strong written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail
Processing incoming and outgoing mail
Accounting Clerk
Processing and monitoring incoming payments
Generating invoices, bills payable, bank deposits, and account statements
Processing accounting payable and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
Processing, verifying, and posting receipts for services rendered
Verify and resolve any billing issues
Performing account payable reconciliations
Track company credit card charges, including payment discrepancies, refunds, returns and miscellaneous charges
Help prepare payroll
Accounts receivable functions such as reviewing and filing customer information, setting up new customer, invoicing, and collection
Document daily collections activity
Support the collection efforts/calls for accounts receivable portfolio
Assist with reports
Assist with preparation for annual audits
Handle any other duties as required and assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Proven working experience as accounts payable and accounts receivables
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations
Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software (Foundation)
Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
Strong knowledge of MS Office applications
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
