Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inputting, updating, and maintaining accurate data in our computer systems and archives.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain files and databases in a confidential manner
- Enter data into appropriate fields; databases, records, and files
- Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners
- Perform regular backups to ensure data preservation
- Check completed work for accuracy and make any required changes
- Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Data Entry Clerk or similar position
- Proficient in using computer systems and comfortable with basic office equipment
- Strong typing skills; experience with touch typing is preferred
- Knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets (MS Office Word, Excel etc.)
- Basic understanding of databases
- Great attention to detail
- High school diploma; additional computer training or certification will be an asset
