Empire Cake is looking for qualified candidates to join our cake decorating team!
Full-Time - 5 days a week (4 week days and 1 weekend day- Sunday through Thursday)
Part-Time - weekday evenings and weekend hours available.
The cake icer will be responsible for cutting and shaping cakes to required sizes, and filling, covering and finishing cakes and cupcakes in buttercream and other frostings. Professional cake mounting and icing experience is required (preferably 1-2 years in a similar position), and candidates must be able to finish cakes quickly, efficiently and in a clean, modern style. The ability to inscribe cakes and decorate with buttercream is required.
A pastry arts background is a plus, as additional duties include making buttercream, cream cheese frosting and ganache, as well as various fillings are required when necessary. The successful candidate will also possess the following qualities: professional, reliable and organized with good time management skills, the ability to handle high pressure and volume, the ability to follow recipes and other instructions and procedures, strong communication skills, and a positive, friendly, enthusiastic, team-oriented attitude.
