Rothman Orthopaedics is looking to hire a full time Certified Professional Coder based in our Center City Philadelphia office! We'd prefer for this to be a hybrid position but are open to making it fully remote for the right candidate.
Location: Fully remote candidates must live in PA, NJ, FL, TX, CO or SC.
Job Summary:
The Business Office Certified Coder reviews coding and documentation for all services provided by the practice through chart auditing as well as AR denials and provides ongoing education to providers regarding coding and documentation while exercising discretion and independent judgment .
Essential Duties:

Audits physician and non-physician provider documentation for compliance with carrier and billing regulations.

Tracks and maintains records of all audits, results of conducted audits, and education.

Develops a pass/fail system and re-audit procedure based on audit results.

Participates and assists actively with external audits.

Creates trainings for physicians and staff based on current coding standards and regulations.

Reviews and corrects AR Denials for coding issues

Provides monthly statistics on audits conducted, trainings provided, and re-trainings for providers failing an audit

Requests and reviews confidential employee and physician information as per state and federal Excluded Party and Sanctioned Individual regulations.

Requests and reviews contractor and business associate information as per state and federal Excluded Party and Sanctioned Individual regulations.

Creates, tracks, maintains, and audits covering physician logs for all applicable offices.

Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED required

Bachelor's degree in nursing or other medical field preferred

CPC certification required through the AAPC

Two years of practical clinical and/or auditing experience required

Orthopedic knowledge/auditing experience preferred

Knowledge of disease process, normal/abnormal findings, reasonable courses of treatment, quality assurance, and risk management issuesn required

Computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office required
