Job Title: Housekeeper - Corrections

Position Summary
Performs a variety of housekeeping activities to maintain the facility in a clean and sanitary manner. This position is located in a correctional facility.
Essential Functions
-
Operate various specialized cleaning equipment
-
Responsible for complete and proper disposal of trash, recycling, and other disposable materials

Damp dust furniture, windowsills, etc.

Empty trash containers daily
-
Wet mop floors in all rooms and bathrooms daily. Damp mop all corridor floors, lobby, dining areas, and others daily

Clean wash basins, mirrors, commodes, and showers daily
-
Clean all air vents
-
Be proactive in reporting facility deficiencies to supervisor or Service Coordinator for correction
Other Functions
-
Follow instructions on use of cleaning solutions. All procedures for solution use will be part of the housekeeping training

Use safety precautions in all housekeeping services

Assists others outside of assigned work area as necessary

Performs other tasks as directed

Maintain logs per ACA requirements as applicable
Competencies
-
Ability to follow written and oral instruction and fill out paperwork/work orders in a clear manner.
Technical Skills
-
Thorough knowledge of proper housekeeping and cleaning procedures.

Knowledge of how to operate equipment, vacuum cleaners, etc.

Understand and abide by all applicable Safety Data Sheets (SDS) procedures.

High School Diploma, or equivalent
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time exempt position with working hours Monday through Friday. Some overtime, holiday, or weekends may be required.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates both in a professional office environment and onsite supervision. Must be able to work in hazardous conditions with an attention to maintaining safety standards. Must be willing to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, industrial settings and constructions sites.

Ability to perform required tasks associated with position including, but not limited to, kneeling, squatting, standing, walking, climbing a ladder, and the ability to pick up or carry up to 50 pounds.
