Position Overview: The Chief of Maintenance at is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations and ensuring the smooth functioning of hotel facilities. This includes managing the maintenance team, coordinating with other departments, and implementing preventative maintenance programs to ensure guest satisfaction and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance management, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Supervision:
- Lead, train, and supervise the maintenance team, ensuring efficient and effective performance.
- Schedule and assign daily tasks and projects, ensuring timely completion.
- Maintenance Operations:
- Oversee all aspects of maintenance operations, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to extend the life of hotel equipment and facilities.
- Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Budget Management:
- Prepare and manage the maintenance department budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Monitor and control maintenance expenses, including inventory and supplies.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and hotel policies.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and services.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other hotel departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruptions to guests.
- Provide technical support and expertise to other departments as needed.
- Emergency Response:
- Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and ensure rapid resolution.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for maintenance-related issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in maintenance or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage budgets and control expenses effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks related to maintenance work.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
