Traffic/Customer Service Agent - Orlando, FL
Summary
To ensure that Laparkan provides the highest level of service and customer care through accurate rate quotations, bookings and documentation, cargo coordination, traces, and speedy resolution of problems.
Requirements include but are not limited to:
- Receive and answer incoming calls. Field calls related to schedules, service issues, cut-off, bookings, rates and services offered by Laparkan.
- Assist walk-in customers.
- Review and verify accuracy and completeness of Dock Receipt (audit).
- Sell Insurance as a Product and cross/up sell other services including Door to Door and LPK destination services to customers.
- Calculate rates for customers and prepare documentation for payment.
- Manage accounts for specific customers.
- Perform dispatch duties using In House program.
- Generate bookings and pick up instructions. Keep accurate records.
- Verify receipt of all documents and ensure that all information is accurate.
- Compare Dock Receipts, bills of lading, and Shippers Letter of Instruction for accuracy.
- Communicate with Shipper or consignee if there is any discrepancy with the weight, pieces or dimensions and receive approval for shipping in writing.
- Generate loading guides for cargo approved to ship.
- Provide Warehouse Manager with copies of all booking details.
- Track cargo receipts from suppliers and trucking companies.
- Coordinate and maximize container loading schedules and loads.
- Notify offshore offices of all cargo received in the warehouse.
- Verify proper terms of payments.
- Request Collect approvals.
- Generate Bills of Lading, SED’s, Caricom Invoices and any other documentation required to complete shipping transactions.
- Send documents to customers as required, especially to Key Account customers as per their standard requirements.
- Coordinate the documentation for clearing vehicles through customs.
- Verify all Hazmat documentation is complete.
- Generate shipment summary information.
- Generate all supporting documents.
- Maintain profiles for customers with specific needs.
- Keep track of all customer bookings.
- Follow through on shipment bookings to ensure timely receipt and retain liaison with customer to provide assurance as necessary and appropriate.
- Transfer Shipper instructions internally within Laparkan to proper associate and department to ensure appropriate handling.
- Responsible for file and maintenance of tariff for designate markets.
- Generate sales leads for our offshore offices.
- All sales leads must be responded to within 24 hours.
- Represent Laparkan at community events, as necessary.
- Knowledge of all products and markets – able to provide information readily and quickly on services to all LPK destinations.
- Provide support to other team members and offshore offices with accurate completion of documentation for weekly cargo shipments for the designated markets.
- Support all departments and operations to ensure that the overall team performance is executed to the highest level of customer satisfaction. Be a team player.
- Responsible for overall results for the designated market.
