SUMMARY OF JOB:
Responsible for all aspects of the daily delivery of services of the residential living apartments, ensuring quality of services and resident satisfaction. Under the supervision of the Director of Residential Living, the Residential Social Worker is responsible to assist in the delivery of services to the residents, to consult with families, and to consult with staff in all departments. The goal of this position is to maximize the psychological, physical, social and emotional well being of each resident, using individual autonomy and self-determination as guiding principles.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Minimum of three years experience in providing social work services to an age-advanced population or other service related experience within the aging services industry.
- Ability to interact with a variety of individuals with a professional non-judgmental and patient attitude. The willingness to listen.
- Ability to communicate effectively both in written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others as a part of various teams.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to drive in the Philadelphia area and surrounding communities.
- General knowledge of Microsoft Windows based computer system and departmental software, as required.
- Ability to work independently and problem solve during an acute change/crisis.
- Flexibility to attend and lead impromptu & planned meetings to meet residents’ psychosocial needs in emergent situations.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- A minimum of a Masters Degree in social work from an accredited program required. Licensed preferred.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Able to meet the physical demands of the positions; i.e., bending, stooping, reaching, standing, sitting for periods of time, climbing stairs, walking and lifting a minimum of 10 pounds.
