Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Deli Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the daily operations of our deli department, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Duties:
- Stock and sell, all items in the Market & Tackle
- Prepare and serve a variety of deli products, including meats, cheeses, sandwiches, salads, and hot food items
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, recommendations, and purchases
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli counter and food preparation areas
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure the freshness and quality of all deli products
- Operate deli equipment such as slicers, scales, ovens, and fryers
- Assist in restocking deli products and monitoring inventory levels
- Respond to customer queries, make product recommendations and provide samples.
- Help customers locate, choose and buy products.
- Weigh, label, package and make products ready for billing and delivery.
- Stock and organize displays and showcases.
- Clean the work areas and maintain tools and equipment.
- Coordinate with other staff in following food safety and hygiene procedures according to company policy.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a deli or food service environment is valuable - but will train
- Knowledge of food handling, preparation, and safety procedures - but will train
- Familiarity with retail math and basic math skills for handling transactions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor when interacting with customers
- Willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities in a team-oriented setting
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Understanding of sanitation practices in food service establishments
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 45 per week
