GIS Mapping Support Technician

And a big part of that is helping our clients both plan missions and interact with our deliverables.
This client-facing role will spend time working directly with our customers. A successful drone program is a complex mix of hardware, software, and good operating procedures, often requiring support. This role will work directly with our clients to help them solve problems from planning drone flights to engaging with Aerotas’ processing products.

Responsibilities
- Help our customers successfully navigate data collection using drone systems. This can include hardware troubleshooting, mission planning, airspace authorizations, etc.
- Provide technical support around engaging with and understanding our CAD deliverables.
- Utilize GIS tools to assist with customer project pricing.
- Guide new customers through the journey of learning to be drone pilots, getting licensed, and getting value out of their system
- Serve as a pilot for our UAV test flights, as well as some client projects. Some travel may be required.
- Other responsibilities may include helping assemble, update, and ship aircraft hardware packages for new customers
Requirements
- A passion for GIS, drones, aviation, and technology.
- Experience with GIS, mapping, engineering, or satellite imagery. Minimum one year of GIS experience is a must. Minimum one year of AutoCAD/Civil3D is a must. Experience with multiple softwares is a plus.
- Someone who enjoys getting on the phone and talking to people. This is a client-facing role, so expect a lot of time working with our clients.
- A knack for problem-solving. Unexpected challenges are frequent, and finding creative solutions is helpful.
- A desire to help others succeed. The main goal of this position is to ensure the success of our customers.
- Attention to detail. In technology and aviation, small problems can quickly become big ones, and attention to detail helps keep small problems from starting in the first place.
- Having a part 107 pilot’s license is eventually required, but can be obtained after starting the role if needed.
- Competent in Google Suite (Meet, Docs, Sheets, Drive) or analogous systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
