As a Full Time Mental Health Professional in the Family Based Department in Towanda, Pennsylvania, your role involves providing support and assistance to families. As a Master’s level clinician here's an overview of your responsibilities and the qualifications required:
Responsibilities:
- Training and Professional Development:
- Participate in a training program to develop as an ESFT clinician with a focus on psychology.
- Attend conferences and training sessions as directed by the program supervisor to enhance your skills in psychology, family advocacy, and behavioral health.
- Supportive Counseling:
- Assist the Mental Health Worker during home, school, or community visits/sessions, offering counseling and therapy to families.
- Provide supportive counseling to families to help achieve family counseling goals and individual service plans, emphasizing behavioral health.
- Family Interviews and Social History:
- Through collaboration and/or supervision with the mental health worker interview families and obtain social history, utilizing a psychology-oriented approach.
- Team Collaboration:
- Provide supportive backup to other Family Based team members, contributing to a collaborative and therapeutic environment.
- Act as a family advocate and liaison between inter-agency and intra-agency personnel in the realm of behavioral health.
- Referrals and Coordination:
- Assist in coordinating referrals to other service providers, promoting a comprehensive approach to therapy.
- Help families in problem-solving, focusing on their strengths and addressing their needs through counseling and behavioral health strategies.
- Treatment Plan Participation:
- Participate in screening, treatment plan development, and discharge processes, integrating psychology principles into therapeutic interventions.
- Collaborate in staffing sessions with the Mental Health Worker to discuss treatment plan progress and advocate for the families' psychological well-being.
- Emergency Services:
- Rotate in 24-hour emergency services seven days a week, providing timely and supportive crisis intervention.
- Therapeutic Sessions:
- Participate as a co-therapist in family therapy sessions with the Mental Health Professional, implementing a psychology-informed approach.
- Professional Relationship Building:
- Establish a professional and collaborative relationship with assigned families, embodying the role of a family advocate and behavioral health supporter.
- Documentation:
- Ensure that all psychotherapeutic and case management goals are directly linked to the treatment plan, treatment plan review, and case notes, reflecting a comprehensive understanding of psychology.
- Utilize NTC’s Electronic Health Records (E.H.R) during your tenure, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of counseling and therapy sessions.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in psychology or a related field.
