Care Attendant, Assisted Living Facility - 12 Hour Shifts: DAY and NIGHT SHIFTS & WEEKENDS ONLY as well.

This position is for a caregiver. This individual must have a demonstrated passion to work with the elderly. We would love to learn about your background and interests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for Personal Care Assistants include the following:
- Maintains a clean, neat professional appearance following nursing assistants' dress code.
- Shows a loving, caring attitude with residents, families and other staff members at all times.
- Communicates clearly and appropriately in a soft tone showing patience and respect.
- Receives report from shift nurse prior to each shift worked.
- Follows nurses' assignment and instructions and assumes responsibility for assigned resident's care.
- Assists residents with bathing, grooming and personal needs.
- Assists residents with bowel and bladder needs and with incontinence protection products.
- Assists residents in dressing or undressing.
- Assists residents in ambulating or transferring from bed, chair, wheelchair or commode.
- Assists residents to and from dining room during meal times.
- Assists residents to planned activities in which they wish to participate.
- Provides privacy for residents by always knocking prior to entering room.
- Maintains a safe, clean, organized and quiet environment through the facility.
- Attends scheduled staff meetings and in-services and/or receives required training as state regulations outline.
- Understand fire and disaster plans and reacts appropriately if an emergency arises.
- Makes beds.
- Knowledgeable of and implements all safety, universal precautions and Company policies/procedures for the protection of residents, co-workers and self.
PHYSICAL, COGNITIVE AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Walking, bending, lifting, grasping, pushing, pulling, reaching
- Ability to communicate with residents, families and personnel.
- Ability to remain calm under stress.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, tact, courtesy, enthusiasm and positive attitude.
- Ability to read and write in English.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicant must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have experience working with the elderly
