- Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients as they arrive at the office.
- Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accuracy in information collection.
Appointment Scheduling:
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments via phone and email.
- Maintain an organized appointment book and optimize the schedule to maximize patient flow and minimize waiting times.
Patient Interaction:
- Collect and verify patient information, including personal details, insurance information, and medical history.
- Assist patients with completing necessary forms and documentation.
- Provide information to patients about dental procedures, office policies, and payment options.
Administrative Duties:
- Handle billing and payment processing, including collecting co-pays and managing accounts receivable.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and files.
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth patient transitions and effective communication.
Office Maintenance:
- Keep the reception area clean, tidy, and well-organized.
- Manage office supplies inventory and place orders as needed.
- Ensure all office equipment is in good working order.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in office administration or related fields is a plus.
- Previous experience as a receptionist, preferably in a dental or medical office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in using office software, including Microsoft Office Suite and dental practice management software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft).
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
- Familiarity with insurance billing and coding.
