Senior Accountant
Overview:
O’Connor, Wells & Vander Werff, LLC is a full-service CPA firm providing accounting, payroll, attest, tax and business advisory services. We are located in Waupun, Wisconsin.
Our firm currently has four partners and fifteen employees that provide services to a wide variety of individuals, not-for-profit organizations and small to mid-size businesses primarily in a five-county area around Waupun. We are currently seeking a dynamic experienced tax and accounting professional to join our team. The right candidate would have the potential to advance to a partner role in the future. The individual in this position will be responsible for providing exceptional business and tax advisory services to a variety of firm clients. This position provides an opportunity for significant client interaction, a new challenge every day and continuous opportunities for professional advancement and development.
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Provide clients with high-quality accounting and tax services. Work includes thorough reviews of client financial records, bookkeeping services, preparation of financial statements and tax planning and preparation services.
- Prepare and review individual and business tax returns ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and maximizing tax-saving opportunities.
- Meet with and advise clients with business and tax planning questions
- Proactively build relationships and communicate directly with clients in order to deliver superior client service in a timely manner
- Invest in professional development through networking and continuing education
- Demonstrate excellent team skills, communication skills, a positive attitude and high ethical standards
- Participate in the supervision, training and mentorship of junior staff members, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Qualifications and Desired Skills:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- CPA or EA designation (preferred)
- Minimum of three years of tax advisory experience (preferred)
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to understand complex issues and effectively communicate topics to clients
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and team-orientated approach.
- Demonstrate proficiency in QuickBooks (preferred)
License/Certification:
- CPA (preferred) or
- EA (preferred)
Competitive salary commensurate with experience

Pay: $64,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
