The Associate Product Manager position assists Sr. Marketing Manager in overall product strategy, research and development requirements, product innovation and positioning for current products along with new and emerging products. Implements and executes marketing strategies along with associated sales collateral for new and existing brands as they relate to (including but not limited to) product/brand positioning, messaging, development of marketing tactics for key customer segments, and identification & development of product advocates. The overall objective is to attain Product Portfolio profitable topline sales achieving business unit financial goals.
Key to the success of the Associate Product Manager is the ability to build successful partnerships with the sales teams, develop relationships with key opinion leaders and to modify strategies and tactics based on voice of customer, emerging trends or adjustments in corporate global strategy. Successfully developing and cultivating relationships throughout cross functional departments that support the corporate business is critical to success.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in development and implementation of marketing plans for product brands
- Assist in the creation of launch plans including marketing materials, customer presentations, etc.
- Assist in preparation and delivery of product presentations to key constituencies including Sales Teams, Corporate Functions and Senior Management Teams
- Routinely communicate with the sales force regarding product updates and availability, competitive activity, sales positioning, best practices, and new product development updates.
- Effectively represent the Product portfolio and customer base on cross-business unit teams
- Assist with managing product improvements/changes/product line extensions
- Work with the Marketing to present brand messages during key clinical congresses
- Assist with market releases
- Participating in cross-functional teams representing the product during the entire Product Lifecycle including usability and customer validation
- Analyze and report on a regular basis market trends, sales and competitive information and its effect on the performance of the portfolio. Develop a strong understanding of the market and the competition. Act as an information resource to all functional areas. Identify key competitors, understand and analyze the competitive market environment.
- Pursue product line extensions, clinical studies and any other activities which would ultimately build the value of the product line and maximize product line earnings. Communicate effectively these needs to appropriate cross functional departments.
- Develop and expand technical knowledge necessary for product line management and customer interaction.
- Assists Clinical Specialist in product training for Sales Teams
- Prepares and delivers product presentations to key constituencies including Sales Teams and Customer Senior Management Teams
- Performs other duties as needed and assigned
