The Patient Services Representative (PSR) is responsible for answering incoming calls, scheduling patient appointments, verifying insurance benefits, as well as working at the front desk checking patients in and out, and collecting co-payments and outstanding balances. They will also assist with minor office procedure insurance authorizations, chart prep to ensure accuracy of insurance information, and will learn the process for incoming referrals. This position serves as a backup for the referrals team and often works with the referrals department for many hours per week.
The Patient Services Representative (PSR) may be asked to float to any of the SSC sites.
Requirements:
Education required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience required: Two to three years of front desk experience in a busy medical practice. NextGen experience preferred. Strong insurance knowledge required. Strong attention to detail required. Strong customer service skills required.
