Granite Peaks Operations is looking for an experienced ASC Manager to manage our fast paced Endoscopy Center in Sandy, Utah.
General Description:
The ASC Manager for the Gastroenterology Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is
responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursing staff and ensuring high-
quality patient care. This leadership role involves managing clinical staff, optimizing
workflow, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a positive work
environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management
· Supervise and mentor nursing, endoscopy tech & receptions staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and professional development.
· Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures to ensure best practices and high standards of care.
· Coordinate staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage and efficient operation of the ASC.
Clinical Oversight
· Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in accordance with established protocols and standards.
· Oversee pre-operative and post-operative care, including patient assessments, monitoring, and education.
· Manage the administration of sedation and monitor patient safety during and after procedures.
· Collaborate with gastroenterologists and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
· Responsible for ensuring an approved accrediting body gives proper accreditation to the Center, and the facility meets all of the requirements of that body.
· Works together with the Medical Director and will meet periodically, but not less than bi-weekly, to ensure the Medical Director is kept abreast of all center activities and provide updates on progress towards center initiatives.
Operational Management
· Maintain an organized, efficient, and safe clinical environment.
· Oversee inventory management, including ordering and maintaining medical supplies and equipment.
· Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including infection control, patient safety, Quality and HIPAA regulations.
· Responsible for ensuring the Center complies with all local, state, and federal laws regarding the operation of an ambulatory surgery center
· Implement quality improvement initiatives and participate in accreditation processes.
· Coordinate and attend vendor training as applicable.
· The ASC Manager is responsible for knowing and understanding all managerial reports and collaborates with COO and Director of Finance on key initiatives.
· Other duties as assigned by the COO and/or Medical Director.
Patient and Family Education
· Ensure patients and their families receive comprehensive education on procedures, post-operative care, and follow-up appointments.
· Address patient and family concerns, providing clear communication and support.
Collaboration and Communication
· Foster a collaborative environment among the healthcare team, promoting open communication and teamwork.
· Represent the nursing staff in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to decision-making processes.
· Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to ensure clear understanding and expectations.
Qualifications
Education
· Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or related healthcare field.
· Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or healthcare related field (preferred) .
Experience
· Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience.
· Leadership of an ambulatory surgery or gastroenterology setting (preferred).
· Extensive experience with conscious sedation and endoscopic procedures is highly desirable.
Skills
· Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
· Excellent clinical skills and attention to detail.
· Proficient in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
· BLS and ACLS certification required.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
· Ability to lift and position patients as needed.
· Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate medical equipment and perform clinical tasks.
Working Conditions
· Work is performed in a clinical environment with exposure to biohazards and infectious diseases.
· Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings and occasional weekends, depending on the surgery schedule.
