The CASCADE (Courage and Support for Changing Attitudes, Dependencies and Environments) Services Program provides both outpatient and residential substance abuse treatment and prevention services for new and expecting mothers and their children.
Overview:
Community Choices, Inc. (CCI) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Program Director for our North Carolina service site. The ideal candidate will have a broad responsibility for overseeing and managing daily operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services, and driving program improvements. This role requires strong leadership skills, clinical expertise, and a commitment to excellence in client care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Supervision:
- Provide day-to-day direct clinical supervision to staff.
- Advise staff on clinical issues, ensuring a relational approach.
- Assess the level of care for clients returning to treatment after a relapse or MIA.
- Ensure the Durham site adheres to all established policy, procedure, and regulatory requirements.
Program Development:
- Research and implement evidence-based practices.
- Facilitate curriculum development, implementation, and training.
- Develop and update treatment protocols and operation manuals.
- Ensure staff is adequately trained, equipped, and motivated to achieve program objectives.
Fiscal Management:
- Support the VP in developing and monitoring the annual operating budget.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with funding agreements.
- Monitor the financial impact of new projects and participate in planning for new project development.
Communications:
- Maintain regular communication with the VP regarding program and clinical issues.
- Ensure supervisors regularly meet with their teams to ensure consistent operations.
- Manage routine correspondence with payers, referral sources, and other stakeholders.
Quality Management:
- Ensure compliance with all corporate, federal, state, county, and payer regulations.
- Work with the Quality & Training Specialist and other staff to maintain national accreditation of state programs.
Supervision:
- Provide direct supervision to program supervisors.
- Conduct employee performance reviews and recommend staffing decisions.
- Ensure staff compliance with policies and procedures.
Operations Management:
- Initiate projects to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Maintain records of key production variables and provide written reports on program operations.
- Ensure the health and safety of all program sites.
- Coordinate activities with maintenance personnel and other vendors.
- Define and participate in marketing and referral development.
- Develop methods to ensure effective use of resources while maintaining patient care standards.
Other Duties:
- Handle clinical and supervisory duties as assigned by the VP.
- Perform additional duties within the scope of the job as required.
Qualifications:
- LCAS (Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist) Required.
- Master's degree in a human services field (e.g., social work, psychology, rehabilitation counseling).- Required
- At least five years of documented experience working directly with individuals with substance abuse diagnoses.
- Minimum of two years in a management position supervising others and in program management, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite at an intermediate level.
- Valid NC driver’s license.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to type, and reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- May be exposed to viruses, diseases, and infections in the working environment.
- May be required to work extended periods, including double shifts.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to outside weather conditions and potentially traumatic situations.
- Noise levels are typically quiet to moderate.
Training Requirements:
- Initial and annual training in client rights, confidentiality, documentation, various software (Alphaflex, QuickBooks), ethics, workplace violence, harassment prevention, and defensive driving.
- First Aid/CPR, universal precautions, and North Carolina Interventions (NCI).
