The successful candidate should be a well-rounded maintenance person experienced in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building maintenance and trades. The candidate must be a self-starter and capable of working independently with a minimum of supervision. Maintenance Technician
Reports to Director of Maintenance Operations
Position Purpose
This position has the responsibility of performing diversified duties to ensure each school is positioned to attract and retain families and staff. This is accomplished by ensuring the highest standard of quality in the physical and mechanical state of our properties. Even though the position operates largely in the background, diligence, attention to detail, and quality of work are key elements in the first and lasting impressions of the Nest School as a whole.
Essential Functions

Perform general maintenance and repairs on an as needed basis per request by location administration via company procedures.

Perform maintenance inspections at each School as designated by a maintenance checklist.

Advise and support School Directors on required and preventative maintenance.

Comply with all safety regulations related to maintenance work.

Coordinate with outside vendors when necessary to ensure major maintenance repairs are completed in a timely manner.

Adhere to all company policies and codes of conduct including but not limited to rules regarding purchasing, timekeeping, etc.

Maintain an adequate supply of materials, supplies, and equipment in good working condition.

Be conscientious of resources and recycle at every reasonable opportunity.

Become familiar with all The Nest School productivity apps, software, and procedures.
Education, Skills, & Experience
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in maintenance, construction, or trades. The more diverse the better.

Relevant skills include general repair, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC.

Ability to conduct advanced troubleshooting and repair on HVAC systems and 120, 240, and 277v systems is highly desirable

Good working knowledge in the use of all types of hand and power tools

Possess basic knowledge of workplace safety procedures.

Common tasks include: Painting, fence repairs, changing bulbs, unstopping toilets, repairing and touching up walls, changing HVAC filters, changing locks, repairing interior and exterior doors, hinges, and glides, repairing and replacing faucets, repairing and replacing toilet flush systems, responding to security issues, testing and recommending new products, etc.

Tools and Equipment
Candidates are expected to have or be able to obtain all their own tools, such as basic hand tools, cordless drills and drivers, saws and cutting tools. Basic plumbing and electrical tools and testers, etc. Larger pieces of equipment may be purchased by The Nest School for use by maintenance staff, such as power washers, augers, snow blowers, etc.

Pay Range: USD $45,000.00 - USD $65,000.00 /Yr.
