English Teacher 2024-2025
The Donna Klein Jewish Academy Middle School is seeking a dedicated, innovative, and qualified full-time English Language Arts teacher for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. We are searching for an individual who is passionate about teaching reading and writing skills tailored to the appropriate grade level through a workshop model. Candidates with experience in teaching Reading and Writing workshops are strongly encouraged to apply.
Our ideal candidate is a dynamic and reflective teacher who thrives on engaging middle school students both inside and outside of the classroom, within the context of a Jewish Community Day School. They should demonstrate enthusiasm for adopting and adapting new curricula and methodologies. Proficiency in teaching reading and writing through a workshop model is essential, as is the ability to incorporate novel study, book clubs, shared reading and writing experiences, vocabulary and grammar study.
In addition to subject-specific responsibilities, all Middle School teachers serve as advisors and leaders within the advisory program. They may also teach electives, lead clubs, or organize special programs that enrich the school community. Collaboration and shared responsibility among faculty contribute to fostering a safe, nurturing, and supportive school environment.
Qualified applicants must:
- Possess a relevant undergraduate / graduate degree(s) from an accredited educational institution
- Demonstrate commitment to ongoing professional development in teaching & learning
- Utilize existing and emerging educational technologies to enhance instruction
- Effectively support students of varying abilities
- Exhibit a collaborative mindset and maintain a positive attitude within the teaching environment.
- Employ a combination of formal instruction and experiential learning strategies in the classroom.
