Job Overview:
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you'll gain valuable experience assisting our experienced mechanics in keeping our equipment running smoothly. You'll play a crucial role in preventing breakdowns, troubleshooting issues, and performing basic maintenance tasks to ensure optimal production efficiency.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks for production, processing, and facility equipment, ensuring smooth operation and adherence to safety protocols.
- Utilize metalworking skills and technical knowledge to design, fabricate, and install custom machine guards and components that enhance operator safety and prevent equipment damage.
- Maintaining and repairing electro-mechanical equipment using advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and rectify malfunctions, minimizing downtime.
- Effectively replace pumps, gearboxes, and other related equipment, ensuring proper alignment, functionality, and system integrity.
- Document all completed tasks within the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) in a clear, concise, and timely manner, facilitating future maintenance activities and equipment history tracking.
- Independently address and resolve minor facility issues (painting, basic plumbing, and electrical repairs) to maintain a well-conditioned work environment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics in both Standard and Metric systems.

- Physical abilities: Meet the physical demands of the role, including static pull strength of 84 lbs., push 60 lbs., lift 50 lbs. Mount/dismount a sit-down forklift.
- Technical skills: Possess basic computer skills to operate production related software and maintain digital records. Forklift knowledge (sit-down)
- Continuous improvement: Maintain a process optimization
Experience and Education
- Current enrollment in technical degree program or relevant 2+ years’ experience in an industrial environment
- Journeyman certificate a plus
- Forklift experience
- Experience conducting PMs on Industrial Equipment
- General knowledge of welding, basic metal fabrication, and/or pneumatic and hydraulic systems preferred
- Experience in the maintenance of converting and web-fed coating equipment a plus

Education:
Experience:
- Facility maintenance: 3 years (Preferred)
- Manufacturing Maintenance: 3 years (Required)
- Mechanical troubleshooting: 4 years (Required)
- Flexoprinting Maintenance: 2 years (Preferred)
