While privately owned, the company borrows money from the public and is therefore registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission along with numerous states, and makes public company filings, such as 10-k’s and 10-q’s, etc.
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team at Shepherd’s Finance, LLC. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the overall financial health of our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards. Provide insights into financial performance and variances to budget.
- Audit Support: Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process. Prepare audit schedules, provide necessary documentation, and address audit inquiries in a timely manner.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other operations, to support business initiatives and address financial-related inquiries.
- Daily management of cash reporting and reconciliation.
- Maintain general ledger accounts and create journal entries.
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Process cash payments.
- Process payroll.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related fields required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in accounting, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
