Position Overview for a Sales and Account Manager for Long Island and New York City Metro Areas:
The Sales and Account Manager will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and driving revenue growth through the sale of our managed IT services. This role requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of the IT landscape, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in sales and account management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales and Business Development: Identify and target potential clients through various channels including networking, cold calling, and attending industry events. Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed sales targets. Conduct presentations and product demonstrations to prospective clients. Prepare and present detailed proposals and contracts tailored to client needs.
- Account Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring their needs are met and they are satisfied with our services. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships through regular communication and visits. Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional services to existing clients. Handle client inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner to ensure client satisfaction.
- Market Research and Analysis: Stay up to date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies. Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and understand client needs. Provide feedback to the product development team on potential improvements and new service offerings.
- Collaboration and Reporting: Work closely with the technical team to ensure seamless delivery of services and solutions to clients. Collaborate with marketing to develop targeted campaigns and promotional materials. Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline status in the CRM system. Provide regular sales reports and forecasts to management.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and procedures governing contracts and engagements.
- Client Advocacy: Serve as the voice of the clients within our organization, advocating for their needs and priorities. Provide feedback to internal teams to inform product development, service enhancements, and process improvements.
- Revenue Growth: Drive revenue growth within assigned accounts through upselling, cross-selling, and expansion opportunities. Identify opportunities to introduce new products or services that align with the client’s needs and objectives.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in sales and account management within the IT managed services or technology industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Strong understanding of IT managed services, including cloud solutions, cybersecurity, network management, and support services.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
- Proficient in using CRM software (preferably Zomentum, HubSpot, and ConnectWise Manage PSA) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with selling complex IT solutions and services.
- Knowledge of current IT industry standards and best practices.
- Certifications in relevant IT fields (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, ISC2) are a plus.
KPIs and Performance Goals:
- Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and retention rate.
- Increase the number of new clients acquired each quarter.
- Increase the average revenue per client through upselling and cross-selling.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities and client interactions in the CRM system.
Commission Structure:
- Base salary plus commission based on achieving sales targets.
- Additional bonuses for exceeding sales targets.
- Commission for upselling and cross-selling to existing clients.
- Year-end bonus based on overall company performance.
